that was a brain cramp on my part I was back in Regionals mode thinking we lost to Michigan and had to come back and beat them twice in a row.
Oh. I was getting text updates from a HS coach who's there and the last one she sent was, "OMG". Since I'd stopped watching after the 6th and went outside, I thought we'd dropped it. The dropped 3rd strike is in my book. Never could understand why there was such a rule.
its a bogus fucking rule. diminishes the sport like its little league. its only 7 innings yet you can sub in and out. cmon. make the 400 lb lesbians run if they freaking bat.
You can only re-enter once so technically it's not "free substitution" but I get what you mean. The runners that sub have to not have been in the game. The pitchers and catchers get a "courtesy runner" in HS. Not even sure if they do that in college. With the DP/Flex player though, it's two different players. One only plays defense and one only bats. The subbuing part of this is what can get confusing.
We actually play the loser of the Auburn/UGA game. For some dumb reason the WCWS doesn't stay in the same brackets throughout.
That's dumb too. No matter how mature a player is, there's always a few in a big situation that forget to run, OR...they run when someone's already occupying and they're both out, lol. No shit. Isl you should no better, mang. The NCAA put in the "twinning" twist in 2014. No idea if it's still in. Two players share the same spot in the order but only one plays the field.
