JJ played all season and not a sr. TT not a sr. PP not a sr. Randle saw good PT and should not be a downgrade at all. We only had 3 sr guys on Oline this past year and a lot of young guys saw good PT. 4 sr's started on D this year but we all know so many young guys saw good PT too. IMO, everyone who is going to be playing this year saw decent PT with the exception of a few guys...
I could handle the three losses had we shown improvements. I didnt like the play calling but I could handle the UF and Bama losses. I know you can slip up as well with an unexpected loss along the way. I cant accept the losses to Ole Miss and PSU though. I also cant accept a team with the talent LSU has to struggle against Washington, Miss St, USL, and La Tech. Thats just flat out unacceptable.
Number of starting seniors doesn't bother me that much. Our crack O-line in 2009 was anchored by two seniors who seemed to regress considerably from their performances in 2008. If we have a lot of inexperienced freshmen/sophomores in key positions, it becomes much more of an issue. The home schedule becomes a lot more favorable in 2010, particularly with the state of the East. I can live with an OOC loss, but with the SEC schedule and JJ's experience behind an improved offense, I do expect the team to get back to Atlanta given its potential. A lot of it hinges on what kind of changes Les puts in place; if we get a carbon copy of 2009 we'll be in for a long season.
I hope and pray I eat my words but I say that the wheels really falls off of Crowton's offense (worst than last year) and we end the season at 6-6 or 7-5 at best, the defense cant carry a team 2 years in a row. to be truthful the first game against North Carolina will tell me what we will do. if we win it might not be to bad a season but if we get beat a .500 season is all I expect. Then when they fire Crowton they need to go ahead and fire Miles also for being dumb enough to keep Crowton around and wasting a extra year. I like CLM and would hate to see him go but would you want a head coach that can't see what the rest of the world does about his own staff.
Didn't we keep Crowton because he has a high payout? I'm hoping BG will basically be running the offense and Crowton is just staying here as OC in name only. I do think Les can be a dummy, but I think his hands have been tied on this one. Even though he has done well for us, I wouldn't be hurt if he did leave. I do admire his loyalty though for staying with us, but it kind of looks like he doesn't want to coach us anymore by the way he acts on the sidelines. Show some emotion Les, come on. He used to run up and down the field. Now he just stands there.
usc has a tough sched. they wont make it. auburn, bama and arky from the west. i say 10-2 and 1st in west (beat bama, lose to auburn and wv)
The frustrating part about the season is that it felt we never got going. One sloppy game after another and it was a shame because had we had a lick of an offense, we would have been really good.
This is a very good point. I think it shows how improved our D was over last year when you add up how little we got beat by.
I think Crowton is a good OC. having inexperienced QBs has hampered the offense. JJ is going to have to learn to read defenses, progressions, and improve his accuracy for Tiger offense to improve.
Good coaches also adapt to the talent around them. Our coaches havent. There is no adapting nor coaching up going on here. When given the opportunity JJ hasnt done a horrible job. He does have a lot to improve on.
