During the football season, I saw numerous posts that revealed a common thought tat we would finish 10-2. It could have very easily been that, but we finished 9-3 with the first loss in a bowl game for Miles. That leads me to believe that many fans, not all, have a grasp on reality, and though they are die hard fans, do not allow themselves to be carried away with unrealistic expectations. That said, out of curiosity and out of the need to think about something else besides the upcoming Saints game, what does everyone expect for next year? I know it's early, but we know numerous things about next season already. We know what recruits decided to pull out, what coaches were hired, which coaches are probably going to be here again next year, and so on. I say 9-3 again, or maybe 10-2. What say you?
its not the losses, its the manner in which we lost. I am willing to let it slide because of the Alabama game. That game is what i want to see every game, just like 08. This team played its heart out in 08 vs. Alabama, and in 09 vs. Alabama. It took overtime, and a bazillion interceptions by Jarret Lee in 08 for Bama to win, and Elephants disguised as Zebras for them to beat us in 09. But the team played its heart out. I have no problems with losing, it hurts, but it happens, just don't give games away due to stupidity. Next year i see us in Atlanta twice. vs. North Carolina and vs. South Carolina, thats right folks, i am picking South Carolina to win the SEC East next season. I have officially lost it.
 :insane: You really have! I expect continued improvement on defense, with another year in Chavis' system. I think the second year after implementing a new system is when you generally see the most improvement. On offense, it really can't get much worse, and with another year (or the first year, really) of experience under JJ's belt, we should be able to keep opposing defenses a little more honest. If he can get that deep ball on target and the timing down, the entire offense should open up. With as bad as things were on that side of the ball this year, we were still a play or three away from being in Atlanta, anyway. With a veteran, SEC caliber QB, I don't think we would have lost a game. So yes, I absolutely think we can get to Atlanta, and I expect a 1 or 2 loss regular season. South Carolina, though...loco! :hihi:
Take a look at how many seniors we'll have starting next year - I think it'll be 6. That's not very many experienced guys. Especially in the SEC. Next, take a look at our schedule. 2010 is going to be rough "IF" JJ gets a lot better. "If" Crowton utilizes and coaches our talent better. "IF" the OLine improves, and "IF" our defense ever gets off the field.... we'll be ok. For me, that's to many "IFs". I'm gonna say 7-5 next year. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
Tennessee is in shambles, Vandy is Vandy, Kentucky is Kentucky, Florida is loaded with talent.....that has never played, Georgia i just don't trust Richt, and then you have South Carolina, who is bringing alot of players back, has landed a few good recruits, and has a pretty damned good defense, if there is going to be any year that some team other than the big 3 in the east can sneak one away, its 2010. Its a shot in the dark, but i'm taking it, because if i am wrong, i am always wrong, but if i am right................
Haha, yeah, if there is a year for them to do it, this is the year. They just burn me every time I pick them to do anything, so I guess I feel jilted. They're the team of perpetual potential, never quite living up to it.
Depends on what Garcia brings to the table next year. He shows signs of high potential. I for one hate that the unblemished bowl and occ record is gone, but to me, I think it drops alot of pressure. The one thing I love about Miles and his coaching is that he never goes backwards after a problem rears it's ugly head. I look for the offense to be explosive next season as he tries to quiet the naysayers. :miles: :tigereye:
I see us going 10-2 next year, although could easily be 9-3. Here is the thing though if we go 9-3 and beat Bama, UF, and Ole Miss I think that Tiger Nation will be fine with that record, lose to them and Miles will be sitting in a very hot seat.
I also picked 10-2 9-3. I honestly and truly feel that we will win the SEC West this coming up year. I think our D will be a top 10 D in almost every aspect. The improvement on D this past year over 2008 was night and Day. I also think Shepard should be on special teams this year too. I think our D line and O line will get major off season work along with our RB's, WR's WB's and SHEPARD. LSU 2010 10-2 and in the SEC champ game.
