It's threads like this that make me realize how much competition in some areas is needed. Here, in the Tri-County area, there's Home, Time-Warner, Comcast Xfinity, AT&T, and W.O.W. (Verizon may be in the area now as well; haven't checked.) And there's the satellite options as well. I'm locked in to a two year deal right now with Xfinity that runs me $69.99 a month for cable and Internet (I own my own equipment.) The cable is digital with HD, I get all the HBO channels for free, and I'm getting 102 megs down on the 'net speed. With tax, I think my bill is $78 and some change. (OH, includes their sports package as well ... NFL network, MLB, SEC, all the ESPN's, CBSSN, NBC's sports channel ... geez, the list goes on.)
I wish we had more options, it's AT&T (direct tv) or suddenlink here. That's it.... And I just found out yesterday AT&T is capping data use for home Internet now. Jerks. Apparently it's been this way since 2011 and I never got a notice.
