I sat through a 2-10 Syracuse season with season tickets. We won 1 game at home against Buffalo. I went to that game not caring who won because if we lost it meant we were guaranteed to get a new coach. Most games that season were over well before halftime. Most of the people were gone at halftime, including me. Part of the reason I came to LSU is because they have a good football team and I wanted to see them win while I was here. I watch so much sports and played so much when I was little it would be stupid of me to go to a university that didn't have a team I could follow. I still think they can win. It's going to be a fun season for me. Every game is going to be a battle and I have faith that no matter how many boneheaded plays I see that we will still be in the game or winning anyway.
We did win. Says a lot about a program when winning, in itself, isn't enough. We're not exactly turning in .500 seasons so you if you're looking for "wins" you should be glad with your choice. At least we still go INTO game expecting to win, there's much to be said about that.
It's no longer fun to watch LSU games because of these little people... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMEe7JqBgvg"]YouTube - Internet Bridge Troll[/ame] (This one is pretty funny...definitely worth the click)
YES! There was a guy in front of us that would turn around and look into the booth after any play that didn't result in a huge gain. Throwing his arms in the air...saying "WHAT WAS THAT"?? He paid his money too, so I guess it is what it is...but it's embarrassing. My sons wanted to know what the guy's problem was. I told them he was mentally handicapped...don't stare, boys.
SF, one of the things I do love about being removed from my home town is that when I watch LSU sports is that I watch them with my wife and kids, and that is it. The only person in the room that is stressed over any of it is me. They all just support how I react, which is to usually grab another beer, talk to my LSU game day shrine, and continue to tell myself, "it's only 1 play/game." I refuse to surround myself with a bunch of rabid LSU fans on game day, it makes the experience not enjoyable at all. :geaux:
I was surrounded by my wife, mother in law and brother in law. All would fit in with SF's group. I still have a headache from all the yelling.
I'm very particular who I watch and LSU game with. It can be a miserable experience with the wrong crowd in attendance.
I was invited to a party but decided to sit at home and watch the game with my wife because I wanted to focus on the game. I was logged on and actually was entertained much like Bandit. There were the usual people who show up just to ridicule Les but there were a lot of other good posters there too. I'd watch the game and then catch up on the posts during commercials. I had a good time.
