rather than the blather you posted why not an explanation? a. OSU isn't slow, they just looked that way against the illini b. osu isn't slow, the illini are just that fast c. osu was feeling the injury bug when they played the illini d. osu is slow and rather than admit it i'll post a light hearted witicism. take your pick
Gunlap-- Keep drinking the kool-aid. You had better hope your boys don't do the same thing. You're talking about OSU's worst game of the year. As a buckeye fan, I barely recognized this team, and I have watched an awful lot of OSU football. Also, keep in mind, it is not the spread that gives us problems, but rather the spread option. if you want to throw out of the spread, go ahead, we'll beat you. just ask Joe Tiller and the boilermakers, who haven't beaten us in I don't know how long, and run the spread. They don't use it as a primary running formation, like Illinois and Florida do. So many people make this mistake that it's mindboggling, and shows how little they know about college football. Most of your fellow LSU fans show that they have a tremendous amount of knowledge and intelligence. Stop bringing them down by making idiotic posts such as OSU would be a mid tier SEC team. the year before LSU's last MNC, sorry USC, you should never have got the split, the SEC was struggling to keep up with other conferences, and these things are cyclical. Get off your soapbox and pay attention to what's happening in the trenches. I expect the big ten to make a VERY favorable bowl showing, complete with the Buckeyes showing the country that they belong, and hopefully bringing home Tressel's second crystal ball in 6 years. Something else to think about...What was the score at halftime, when the SEC powerhouse Kentucky played the OSU doormat Kent St? Pulling away in the second half is easy to do when you play a MAC team, but you do that against the Buckeyes and you're toast.
Cajunlost- I agree this will be a war. I just get incensed by those who are such homers that they can't see the talent on other teams. I'm saying OSU 27-LSU 24.
Why does LSU have to "play down" to the buckeyes for them to have a chance to win. That's a bit homerish don't you think? The buckeyes have had almost 60 NFL players drafted in the last 5 years, what makes you think they have any lack of talent?
Did you see LSU vs VT? If so you certainly wouldn't be asking that question. If LSU plays up to it's potential which they did in that game, there is not a team in the country that can compete. Unfortunately LSU didn't play up to that potential for a good part of the season. That's not meant as disrespect towards OSU just a statement of fact. Also if you had been around a while you would know I'm no homer and am more often accused of being a glass half empty fan who is often over critical of the team.
Point taken with regards to the fact that i'm a new guest here. And no, I have not had a chance to watch the VT game, though I think they are a bit overrated. I will only say this... If OSU had played to the "potential" of their "talent" in last year's MNC game, then we'd all be talking about LSU being a 10 point underdog right now. potential doesn't mean much if you can't get motivated to show up on game day.
Not so sure how much different or even if the outcome would have been any different but that shouldn't play a part in this years spread(although it may). On that I agree 100% and is the biggest challenge many teams face each week.
