Huskies were ranked 90'ish three weeks ago. So they had to come a long ways to break into top 25. The other schools mentioned are traditional powers so they get the breaks when it comes to polls.

BTW, Jake Locker made the Heisman watch list at this site:

You guys are my second favorite team outside the Huskies.
I hope LSU wins out this year.

You guys may be the most improved team in the NCAA...see how important the QB position is?

Locker vs USC's freshman Matt Barkley.

Keep winning and DON'T let down next week !!!! I don't know who you're playing but your team must be a little heady right now. Those kids are probably ripe for a loss after such a GREAT win. :).

The Coach is worried about a letdown too. They play Stanford, who is a so-so team and the players may be looking past them toward the big ND game the following week. I'm worried about a let down too.

This is what USC Coach, Pete had to say after the game to the USC media:

"That's the best quarterback we've played in nine years here," Carroll said when told Washington has beaten only Idaho and USC the last two years. "Jake Locker has ridiculous talent, and had he remained healthy last year, Tyrone [Willingham] would still be coaching there."
A lot more was said about Locker, such as being a top 5 Heisman, (for next year) here:

However, I'm still glad Ty is gone. We wouldn't have beaten USC with him as coach. I like our new coach, SARK.

I think college football, the Pac-10, and Saturdays are better when a team like UW is good. They have a strong history, and it's teams like them that have brought college football where it is today. I'm very happy for UW and wish them, Jake, and Sark good luck. It's about time USC has some tough competition. I hope UW keeps growing.

He's right about locker being ridiculously talented. The guy is a super athlete and is extremely accurate. He's the biggest reason I thought they could possibly pull it off against USC. He's flat-out fast too. But USC did a pretty good job against him running the ball except for the TD. Still, they couldn't really stop his passing.

But Tyrone Willingham was gone no matter what and it's the best thing that could have happened to that program. They had Locker for 3 & 1/2 games last year and were 0-3 with 2 blowouts (good competition, but still...). He's not giving the coaching staff enough credit. They've changed the mentality and their D held USC's 55 5-star running backs to just 1 TD the whole game. Also, they held USC to 0-11 on 3rd and 4th downs. Impressive. They gave up big runs, but held when it meant the most.

He may very well be the best pro prospect USC has played against in Pete's 9 years, but as for college, I think he's forgetting about Vince Young. Maybe he wants to forget...

Washington is in good hands with their coaches. Gotta bring some balance out west.

Well it has almost been a year. This years LSU game will be Nebraska. That ought to be a tough one.

Good luck with your season. Hope you beat Florida this time.
