I must say that the Huskies have won me over as a fan! Of course I will always bleed purple & gold and generally pull for SEC schools over others...except BAMA (By default I root for Bama's opponent). That being said...Washington is now my favorite non-SEC team! The showed tremendous heart and potential against our beloved Tigers. Most attributed this to LSU being overrated instead of the possibility that Washington is actually a very improved/good/well coached team...i'm guilty here! Well after three weeks things are looking much better for Washington and LSU...not so much for USC! Who would have thought that an 0-12 team could turn things around so quickly? This is why college football is the greatest sport on earth (My extremely biased opinion)! After 3 weeks, the Huskies are well deserving of a top 25 ranking! However, my question is...If Washington is 24th then how can USC be ranked 12th after yesterday's game?!!!!
That is why the preseasons polls suck College football is very fluid in each year. They take last season as the same, but every 3 to 4 years every school has a new team.
I can say that Im on Jake Lockers bandwagon. The guy can play. Good arm, great quickness and good size for a QB. IMO hes comparable to Tebow.
Minnesota almost upset #8 Cal, and we were talking about what Minnesota would be ranked if they did that, and I said #24. But after playing tough against LSU and then beating #3 USC, Washington should be a lot higher than #24... they should at least be around #17 or so. Come on, BYU beats OU, and they get to be Top 10.
:geaux: I posted in another thread I though the Huskies would break in at #18 or #19 and I still think that's where they should be. They're a damb good team and well deserving of a Top 25 ranking.:thumb: Locker is one hell of a QB and I saw him doing a lot of the same stuff to USC that he did to us. Made me feel a lot better seeing him do it to someone else though.:hihi: That team has a bright future in front of it and the rest of the PAC - 10 better watch out! :LSU231:
BYU was # 20 before that game Washington wasn't even listed as "others receiving votes" before the SC game
I'm a believer now as well. Locker almost willed that win all by himself. He hit some well covered receivers.
