USC plays U Dub at Husky Stadium 2 weeks from now. That game should be a good barometer of the relative strengths of the Tigers and the Trojans as well as whether UW is as improved as they looked against LSU.

Will definitely be rooting for the Huskies. They earned mine and many other LSU fans' respect.

USC seems to lose to one Pac-10 team every year, hopefully this year it's to Washington

The problem is that Miles and Carroll are completely different coaches. Miles closes his practices and is paranoid about revealing anything earlier than he has to. Carroll opens up his practices and doesn't try to hide anything and takes the attitude of, "you still have to match up and beat me on the field".

Carroll also seems to coach with more fearlessness while Miles seems to be coaching much more tight and scared after last year's disaster with Lee. He didn't seem to want to take ANY little chances playing UW.

I don't think it's possible to know anything because Crowton didn't open up the offense.

Also, USC will have the benefit of seeing the UW offense and defense for 2 weeks prior to the game. They will be able to prepare with a little more accuracy. But UW impressed me. I hope its because they were good and not visa versa.

I have a feeling this will be ugly.

    I hope not.

Miles also needs to realize that style points DO matter because it could be the difference between being ranked #2 and #3 and playing for the championship. Although this team isn't looking like they will be anywhere near any championship game of any sort this year.

comparing out of conference (first games) against inter conference games of a patsy is foolish.

washington is not near as good as we think and will be lucky to win 4 games. they will get steamrolled here. nothing to look forward to.

This is a good point and you will see the polls reflect LSU taking a little hit from this nonimpressive win. I think the polls come out later today.

I got LSU staying put at #9 (versus being #7 had it been an impressive win) in the coaches' poll and dropping a spot to #12 in the AP.

if you are going to compare and contrast USC and LSU based on their performances against UW, prepare to be disappointed. I have a feeling USC is going to blow them out. Its not fair to compare because this was the 1st game of the season, we had to travel 2300 miles or something like that. I thought the time zone thing hurt us. Our defense (other than PP#7, and Cutrera) looked extremely undisciplined. We stunk on 3rd down, we got torched through the air, we didnt control the line of scrimmage, missed tackles, our ends got no pressure, and our blitz packages just looked silly, we sent people and they just dumped the ball off, and picked up big yards.
