Louisiana Tech DB receiver half-game suspension - College Football Nation Blog - ESPN Sorry was in BFE and didn't watch the game, luckily :bncry:
It strikes me as somewhat odd that the WAC commisioner suspended somebody for a penalty that wasn't called. Almost like he cares about the integrity of the game. Can't say I see Slive ever doing something like that. :dis: But then again, WAC doesn't rake in the dough like SEC...
Tech fans are melting down over it. They are emailing their commish and all getting the standard reply as seen below. Apparently the SEC actually stood up for a bad call again. (2nd or 3rd time this year, must be some kind of record)
I guess it is in La-Tech's nature to glorify a blatant helmet-to-helmet hit: YouTube - Chad Boyd Lights up Toliver Yes, let's make a video with rap song saying "Lights Out" to highlight this... Of course, they have to get excited about something since they have a 3-7 season. :dis:
If anyone wants to discount what mackey said as something that some sick Tech fan put up, watch the video again and see the reaction of the Tech sideline. Pay particular attention to the guy in black with white sleeves at 0:09 holding his hands over his eyes as if he just witnessed a horrible crime (he did). Keep an eye on the same guy though, he is later seen applauding the hit in an attempt to fit in with the rest of the mob.
Lee's performance was very poor. What astounded me was that Coach Miles, on his radio show last night, said that Lee played well. I am a supporter of Miles but he needs to be more honest with the fans and not treat them like they are idiots. We know when someone plays well and when someone plays poorly.
Perhaps Coach Miles is just being respectful of his players by not throwing them under the bus on the radio. You don't actually think that publicly humiliating JL will suddenly turn him into Sam Bradford, do you? I'm reminded of Curley Hallman blaming the '94 AU loss solely on Jamie Howard. I mean, he DID throw a record # of picks for a 4th quarter, but none of the fans understand WHY he was throwing the ball in the first place... Regardless, it didn't do anything to help Howard.
