I have a very good friend (even if he is a Gator fan) who throughout this season kept telling me over and over that this was "our" year. This began after the LSU UF game, then Auburn, Alabama, etc, and now here we are in the NCG! If he was being prophetic we should bring home the trophy. Man, what a year. Just gotta relax after Jan 2nd and work on growing my hair and fingernails back! :geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux: :helmet::crystal::helmet:
same thing with me, i have a friend who is a Gator Alum and he kept telling me that it was our year. I believed it until the Kentucky game, my faith waned a lil. but i am damn excited about our damn strong football team and this will really help recruiting.:LSU231: :tigereye: :geauxtige
I say EMPHATICALLY ....YES!!! This has to be our year. There were too many "coincidents" that have come together to put is in such a spectacular position: 1) BOTH of our losses came in Triple Overtime 2) All of the unusual upsets that knocked other contenders out: too many to list and too many underdogs to thank 3) There was ONE scenario, and one scenario only that would put us in the BSC title game after our loss to R-Kansas; and it came to fruition!!! 4) our coach, who has proclaimed his love for the Big House, might have been on his way to accepting the HC position there..... but thanks to Herbie... he will coach our Tigers for yrs to come. 5) How do we manage to win so many dramatic, nationally televised ball games against quality opponents, considering all of our injuries? Those dramatic finishes had to have stuck in the minds of the voters. 6) There are just so many erie circumstances, all of them favoring our LSU TIGERS!!! It really looks like the football gods made this happen, and so it will be ... LSU vs tOSU in the Dome, for the National Championship. :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :crystal: :crystal: :crystal:
I don't ever remember a single team falling into the NCG like this. If anyone knows one with a similar situation, I'd like to know who and when. :tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye:
I think its a bit of both, if LSU wasn't as good of a team as they are and have the kind of leadership that they do, (both in Senior leadership and coaching staff) they wouldn't have been able to overcome the things they have. Also LSU has gotten a bit lucky to have some teams lose at just the right time to allow them to be where they were. It also hasn't hurt having a lot of your games on CBS as a nationally televised game, even in the triple OT the voters and decision makers saw a good team. To get to a championship game you have to be good and lucky. Used to all you had to be was good, but now with the way college football is you have to be a bit lucky too.
We made it to the NCG, it is OUR YEAR...This season has been crazy for everybody in college football.
i've been pretty vocal against people saying anything close to we're a team of "destiny." because that's just not how the world works. but it certainly feels like this is our year. let's be smart, though, and reserve judgment on this issue until after the game in january.
I think that the false reporting of Miles leaving for Michigan set in motion a sequence of nearly unstoppable events that led LSU to the NCG. We may or may not ever learned what really happened behind the scenes but I believe when CLM displayed his character at the PC before the SECCG, the universe beat a wide open path for him to follow to the NCG as his reward.
but if i hear one more person here say that clm will still leave, but after the ncg, or that you can't trust what he says about job situations, etc, etc., i swear i am gonna slap the snot out of them. one of the newcasters last night in his little editorial said that clm would leave for mich after the ncg. i cannot wait till lsu has a signed contract and mich has someone else so these jilted lovers and jealous idiots will stfu!!
