Has Les or JJ, or any body developed an excuse for the way he performed Saturday night?

Remember before the season when Miles said "Last year we had Jefferson on a short leash, this year we have released the leash and we are going to let him run the offense & open up the playbook"

Look I understand JJ is not a great QB, he will more than likely not be playing on Sunday and may not be playing on Saturdays for LSU if he continues this sort of play. And I know right now one you of you wants to bold that last sentence and say he has been playing this poorly the last 2 years.

BUT - I know we all agree that was about as bad as we have all seen from him in an LSU uniform. Was that the Jefferson we will see if Crowton & Les let him off his leash and open up the playbook?

Was JJ sick? Did he have the flu? Stomach Virus? Jammed finger???

He just didn't throw the ball quickly, accurately and consistently.

he appeared to be very uncomfortable in the pocket as well. I know he isn't by any stretch of the imagination a pocket passer, but he looked lost out there

He's more of a pocket passer than a "dual threat". He's having a problem processing all of the coaching input.

    That may be it.

Its like your buddies giving you tips while you are on the golf course. More times than not, its not going to improve your swing. The best thing is to stick with what you already know and accept the fact that if you were a badass at golf, you would be on the PGA tour. But you are not, and except for some really good shots here and there you are a weekend golfer!

So, I guess the million dollar questions is, even with the right amount of coaching and guidance....can JJ improve? Or is this as good as he will ever be?

We all are....I love playing with guys and after they hit a sh!tty shot or play a bad round...all you here is "Man Im playing like sh!t today"

Then the next weekend, "Man I suck today!"

NO - You are playing like YOU today - You do SUCK!!

But, its thats one beautiful drive, putt, or birdie that keeps you coming back to play another day!

    Hijack City.

A few years ago after shooting a 47 on the front nine, I whined that that was my 4th straight damn front 9 47. My podnuh said "Well, that's what you shoot!"

this very well may be the case. Regardless though, he needs to start building some confidence and showing it on the playing field. The coaches should be helping him gain some confidence as well
