Was it in the 2007 Florida game when CLM rolled the dice

You mention the hurricane but neglect to mention that the team lost practice time and meals and conditioning because of it. To hold a team together under those conditions and have them perform as they did was pretty awesome coaching.

I think it's more of what kind of human being Les is. Les is just a great man first and foremost and someone we as LSU faithful should be proud of.

Anyone think that egomaniac in tuscaloosa would have been as involved with the community had he been here? Hell no, and I think that's why I like Les so much, he sings the alma mater with the students and players after wins for crying out loud.

If winning at all costs is the only thing that matters in a fan or football player's life, by all means root for and attend Alabama. But if the really important stuff matters more to you like being a father figure to young men, guiding them through college and setting a great example for them, graduating more players than any other university in the SEC save Vandy, and turning these kids into respectable classy adults, on top of winning 80% of your games, then how can anyone not love Les?

It feels like LSU football has been a family since Les has arrived whereas under his predecessor it was more like a business.

I seem to remember hearing that the players lost on average 5-10 pounds during that week. They had so many more important things to worry about that practice and conditioning. That 2005 team had heart but just ran out of gas at the end against UGA.

I still contend that we beat Georgia with a healthy Joe Addai.

Was that the game that was wet? I remember a game against UF that was wet and Hester went head to head with a safety in the open field. I remember the safety's feet were planted bracing for the hit and his feet slide backwards about 2 yards when they tangled. Hester was tackled but he put he wood to that safety. It was a hit that just stuck in my memory.

I don't remember it being wet, except from Tebow's tears.

Not to defend Saban or Alabama but yes he is involved in the community. To think that Lester has this all to himself is misguided. News coverage showed Saban with his players helping right after the tornado. More than a year after it hit, he was still doing things to help rebuild that community.
