First, see that "[Obs.]"? That means "obsolete".

Second, see that definition that's listed for it?
Is that really what you guys are trying to say? When you typed, "the call was debateful", you were really saying that the call was quarrelsome?

Or is the definition of "debatable" what you're really trying to say?
Debatable Definition | Definition of Debatable at Dictionary.com
The only definition of "debateful" to be found is an obsolete reference to the unabridged Oxford's dictionary. Asking google to show a definition of "debateful" returns nothing as well.
    define: debateful - Google Search
So I'll stick with my conclusion that the word you actually wanted to use was DEBATABLE, even if you think that my conclusion is debatable. :)

Debatedly he made it out as he made a rolling motion over the goal line. At one point, his right arm was slightly, yet debatefully, across the goal line. Then he was pushed back into the end zone. I was able to see this with the Slo Moe feature of my Dv are.

Yes it was a safety. The line was 26.5. Had they got the safety LSU would not have covered.

For it to be a safety, the ball cannot break the inner plane of the goalline. It was definitely unclear by the tv replays, but the ball did not seem to make it out of the endzone, however, it doesn't have to. Where the ball was placed is irrelevant. Even though the ball did not make it completely out of the endzone, it broke the plane, therefore by rule must be placed at the one inch line.:LSU231:

If I was the line judge.....2 points, free kick for LSU. Instead, I just get to play one on Monday morning.
