yep, want no part of hawaii. no win situation. as far as the game is concerned id much rather see lsu v. usc/ou/tx in the cotton
My bad - snipes are common around some parts. I initially thought it a joke, but again... I actually watch quite a bit of football and watch for those types of players - Hawaii is full of them, imo. Well they did have that soap shortage in the locker-room a year ago (remember that?)... hehe
Nope, I don't think so. They have some speed, but those timing routes require precision and reads more than speed.
Oklahoma said this same kind of BS last year before the Boise game, we all know how that turned out. The last thing LSU can stand to play against with the ANEMIC pass rush they showed against Ark, is a QB that release's the ball as fast and as accurate as Brennan. IN FACT, I am worried about LSU stopping ANY TEAM THAT comes on the field to play offense at this point. They can't stop the run, and they can't cover receiver's, so every drive we make better be 13.30.:geaux:
LSU vs Hawaii Matchup or Blowout ?? Well it seems those in the know say that Hawaii would have no chance against a stronger, faster and more powerful LSU team. This game will surely be a blowout. First off, I will for the moment, accept the 'fact' that Hawaii has zero chance against LSU if they play each other in the Sugar Bowl. That would be 0 % chance of winning that game. Some of you agree with me ... thats great. Now lets ask the next question: What would be Hawaii's chances against Arkansas? Surely not zero I mean it couldnt be 0% . I mean Arkansas is still not even ranked in the BCS top 25. Therefore if you believe in any of the BCS rankings at all you cannot say 0% chance on Hawaii vs Arkansas. So would that number be? 1% chance or 5% chance how bout 20% chance. I'm sure the wounds on this recent LSU loss are still fresh enough that I need not remind everyone how LSU LOST yes LOST to Arkansas at Baton Rouge no less. So what would Hawaii's chances be against a team like say ... Auburn ?? Some might say low but no one could sanely argue that those chances would be zero. At least 25% if you were a bookie <smirk>. A few more logical assumptions on a chaotic college football season follows... Nov 23rd ... Arkansas beats LSU 50-48 triple OT @ LSU Oct 13th ... Auburn beats Arkansas 9-7 @ Arkansas Sep 22nd ... Auburn beats New Mexico State 55-20 Oct 27th ... Hawaii beats New Mexico State 50-13 So clearly ... or chaotically ... I say Hawaii has a decent chance against any LSU team even if it has to play in LSU's own backyard. Oh BTW if this game does come to pass I'd suggest all the "pundits" that give Hawaii no chance in this game mortgage their houses and lay out all their money on LSU to win <smirk>. Just a suggestion =) Aloha lefire:
Re: LSU vs Hawaii Matchup or Blowout ?? I love this kind of logic. If you look long and hard, you can spin this anyway you want, but it is meaningless. Sept 8 ... Hawaii beats LaTech 45-44 in OT Nov 10 ... LSU beats LaTech 58-10
No one is saying LSU will shut down their offense but we will contain it. The only chance they have is if they have run a gimmicky offense, like Arky with the wildhog, because are D is too aggressive sometimes and can be taken advantage of. They have the worst rushing attack in the WAC, due to lack of runs, but still only average 3.6 Y/Carry, which is 6th in the WAC. Teams that are one dimensional and only pass on LSU tend to struggle against LSU. To put that into perspective, Mississippi State is last in the SEC with 3.5 Y/Carry...and thats IN the SEC. Now, the one thing people always talk about Hawaii is the offense. What about the defense? Personally, I can't have much, if any, respect for them if they give up 44 to LaTech, 37 to Utah State, 35 to San Jose State, 30 and to Fresno State. All of Hawaii's close games came on the road, so LSU-South doesn't fare well for them. However, it is hard to gauge how good a team really is unless we play them. But based on the defensive performances and the weak schedule, I'm leaning toward them not being all that great. They might be world-beaters, but we'll never know, they need to step up like Fresno State and schedule some real powerhouses, so they can prove themselves instead of all this speculation.
