There were no WMDs or anything close....if there had been we would have heard all about it. They hung Powell out to dry with that info he went to the UN with.

And while we are speculating....how bout this one....I'm speculating we are in the beginning stages of a regional conflict in the middle east that will end with a confrontation with Iran.

Will be nice to see what happens to the US economy when oil hits $200 a barrel.

well, to be fair, you also believe that the US was so desperate to go to war in the middle east that they murdered 3 thousand of my neighbors. so there is that.

because iraq invaded kuwait, an imprtant friend in an important area, then failed to stick the cease fire agreements of the liberation war. i dunno how many times we have to go over this.

All of his life, George W. had trouble measuring up to his distinguished father . . . in academics, military service, business, and politics. The one thing the elder Bush failed to accomplish, in Dubya's view, was to finish the job in 1991 and topple Saddam Hussein. In his mind, Saddam was behind every evil in the middle east and he became determined to bring him down. I think that was the basis of the whole thing. To do something his dad had never done.

I don't mean to be flip about it but what is so important about the fact that they are your neighbors? People in power look at the great majority of human beings on the planet as expendable.....it doesn't matter where they live. I think it was Stalin who said, "if you want to make an omelette you have to break a few eggs."

The gov't also said the air at ground zero was safe for all the emergency workers, etc. and from what I understand they had extraordinarily high numbers of deaths from exposure to toxins, etc in the air. The gov't could care less.

Do you think the Japanese gov't is giving accurate accounts of the radiation? I'm completely ignorant on the topic of radiation but I would believe anything they say about radiation levels. Hell, the US pulled their aircraft carrier out of harms way immediately....

Eh depends on the republican. Not these wackadoodle neo cons today, republicans used to be a more to the center, now you can't find one that will run that isn't a wack job social conservative. The ones today that sit there and tell you how big government is bad but want to control every aspect of your life except for how many guns you can have and which christian church you can attend.

Bush ruined his own presidency with the unfinished wars, the housing and finance collapses and the bailouts all on his watch.

But I give credit where credit is due. His leadership after 9/11 was smart and proper, he hit Al Qaeda in Afghanistan quickly and hard. If he had kept up the pressure there and not gone off foolishly on the Iraqi debacle, he might have beaten Al Qadea when the getting was good.

He also created the largest marine wildlife sanctuary in the world between Hawaii and Midway. That was a huge thing that he got little credit for.

But he wrote his own history, trying to make him into a hero and blame the press for his unprecedented failures is ridiculous.
