    You got to love that the folks on capitol hill, they will spill it one way when it helps them and then the other way when it hurts them. Technically the President does have the authority to act without congress and it is said that the whole getting congress’ permission is a formality and not a necessity. My thing is if you are going to criticize a man for doing something then you should abstain from doing the same act.

    I assume you are talking about the War Powers Act...?

    Yeah. As long as they are acting “pursuant to”, they are good.

    ETA: not that I agree with it BTW

    That act authorizes what 60 days without congress approval b/c a risk is so great. Libya a risk?

    And Iraq/Afghan/Pakistan been going on a lot longer.

    Oh I agree, Iraq was completely justified in my opinion, Libya should have been left to the Euros. I fail to see how Libya’s situation threatens the U.S.

    I am a conservative and I had no love at all for saddam. I think saddam was contained with the sanctions and the no fly zone. I don't see how the CIA and NSA got it so wrong. Iraq was a waste of money in hindsight while the real problem next door was left to fester. If it was so important to go to Iraq why not Iran ? I don't get it.

    The President is the Commander in Chief. He can do with the military whatever he damn well pleases.
