Because I don't feel innocent civilians should be killed. I apologize for that stance, I would think someone from New York may have the same view.
of that number, how many do you believe are "innocent"? how do you know they are? if for example, a sunni muslim blows up a shia neighborhood, and then the shia blows up the sunni the next week, and a total of 200 are killed, how many of them are innocent, if any? lets say we allow the whole country to fall into sectarian violence. how would we characterize who was innocent then? and how many of the deaths are we to blame on the US? (the correct answer is zero)
try for once to be an adult. you know i didnt say that. i dont care either way. thats a helluva lot different than approving. the problem with liberals in general is that they are not actually loking for solutions. they are just trying to feel righteous. you dont really care, you just want to feel like you are on the right side. but being on the right side is not as simple as you think it is. you dont just accuse the other side of being for evil killing or whatever, then congratulate yourself on caring about everything. the real solution to poverty and war and sectarian violence is capitalism, atheism, and free democracy. and thats not easy. and people will be killed. the good news is that most of the dead in iraq are idiots who couldnt run their own country for ****. they were too stupid to see the value of democracy, and instead allowed themselves to be ruled by an idiot. so they get what they deserve when that leader starts threatening the world.
You said how many innocent people would be in a neighborhood full of sunnis or shia. Are we talking about a sunni or shia retirement community or something, because I find it hard to believe any neighborhood anywhere would have ZERO innocent women and children.
the americans are the one force in iraq that is actually trying to stop the violence. your american brothers are the ones dying to stop these folks from killing each other and everyone else. thats what the war is for. so dont portray it like the americans have anything to do with the killing. they dont. they are saving people, they are dying themselves to save these idiots from each other.
You did see the part where I said soldiers and civilians right? I didn't portray anything. How many Americans were saved by us invading Iraq? Please don't tell me you think for 1 minute that 1 American life was saved by us invading Iraq...
the numbers you linked gave total dead. without mentioning how many of the dead are the enemy and are better off dead, the numbers are wildly misleading. long term? could be lots and lots and lots. the long term stability of the region is vital. and the iraq war didnt just help iraq. it is one small step towards the spread of freedom and democracy, which is literally the most important thing in the history of the earth.
