I would love to go to the UGA game, but am hesitant to do so without "backup." I have heard the horor stories (particularly from my brother...an Auburn fan) about the obnoxiousness of the UGA fan base. Very few, if any, of , my fraternity brothers will be in attendance. I would like to go in with some Tiger fans and pay for 2-4 seats together for the game. I want to go but I am not sure that I will make it out alive of Sanford Stadium if we win. I live in B'ham, Alabama and can provide lodging if you want to drive over the morning of, and drive back to B'ham the day of. Shoot me a message if you are interested, especially if you have a ticket (preferably in the LSU section!).

BTW...I do need a ticket (two or more if there are several of us that sit together!!!). They have no defense!!! At all!!! I just don't want to be the lone ranger sitting in the middle of the UGA section. I've heard Sanford Stadium is pretty hard core!!!

Athens is a very fun town. Their bar strip blows anything seen in Tigerland or downtown Baton Rouge out of the water. Their tailgating scene is pretty well organized and while it's not as impressive as ours, they do it pretty big.

There are some obnoxious Dog fans but there should be plenty of backup. There's a lot of LSU fans in the Atlanta area so we should be well represented.

    Good luck and have fun!

try going to an ark game vs ulm ... i was the ONLY one in purple since my wife is a ULM alum ... they kept playing DMac/Hillis/Jones highlights from the triple overtime game over and over and over ... came close to 3 different violent confrontations just getting to the stadium

You will be ok in Athens. My sister went there and I came up a couple of times to see LSU play over the years. Just be humble at the bars afterwards no matter what happens, that is when you get in trouble. I have several friends going up from Baton Rouge and I might be there myself, so you will have camaraderie! :geaux:

shoot me an email. I'm in a similar situation...never been there before, have heard some good and bad stories, I'm coming down from VA solo and don't want to be walking to or from the stadium alone, especially if it is a night game. [email protected]. I still need a ticket as well

They can't be any more obnoxious than our own fans. :hihi:

I'm going to the game with purple & gold on my back!

My sister and I will be taking my dad (LSU grad 1951) to the Georgia game this year. I've been to plenty of LSU games, but never been to Athens. I may be a Texas grad but we're off on Oct 3 so I'll be clad in purple and gold.

Any tips on gameday in Athens is much appreciated. We'll drive in from an Atlanta hotel on Saturday morning. Trying to get a feel for the parking options, and the pregame/tailgating scene. Obviously with my dad up there in age a little bit I'm not looking for anything crazy. But we'd like to find a decent place to park and then a tailgate area or good bar/restaurant before gametime. Sounds like maybe there are some places in downtown Athens or along the walk between the downtown area and the stadium.

Any suggestions are much appreciated. All I can offer in return is that if you ever find yourself in Austin on a home game weekend, I'll make sure you're well fed and, uhh...well imbibed! Hopefully we'll see you guys back in Omaha next year.

You will be fine in Athens as long as you can take some taunting and give it back in a civilized way. As long as you don't turn into a raging a$s than you should have a good time.

Or you could be like the average Auburn fan that comes to LSU:
Flips the bird to any LSU fan that Tiger Baits him and tells them to phuck off.
Then goes home and tells everyone how badly he was treated.
