Thanks.... We’ll have to improve on defense and 3 point shooting, but, assuming we get Dante, we can definitely make another Sweet 16 run. Defensively: Waters got a ton of steals, but he’d leave his man open in the process if he missed. Not to pick on him because the other guards would get beat off the dribble forcing us to collapse and leave a wide open shooter. 3 point shooting: I think Days will be our best shooter. I love that he doesn’t take bad shots. He also puts a nice, high arc on his shot. Mays is an enigma. He shot 31% as a Freshman, 35% as a Sophomore, and I fully expected him to be around 37-38% last season. However, he regressed. He should be a much better shooter as he has good form. The problem is he has a very slow trigger. Smart will be more of a scorer than a shooter, but he can get hot from 3. The X factor could be Bishop. His jump shot is really nice, but he’ll be a freshman and we might have to wait for the game to slow down.
He wants to be capable of pressing effectively but not for 40 minutes. He understands the need to mix defenses up.
