    Interesting read.

    https://abc7ny.com/actresses-ceos-charged-in-alleged-college-admissions-scam/5186103/

BREAKING: The US Attorney in Boston has unsealed indictments against at least 47 people in a nationwide college admissions cheating and recruitment scheme, including current and former D-1 coaches at Yale, Georgetown, USC, Wake Forest and Texas.
The suspects allegedly paid bribes of up to $6 million to get their kids into elite colleges, including Yale, Stanford, Georgetown and USC.

In most cases, the students did not know their admission was contingent on a bribe.

University athletic coaches and administrators of college entrance exams were also among those arrested.

The alleged scam centered around a man in California who ran a business helping students get into the college of their choice.

Authorities say parents would pay him a predetermined amount, with full knowledge of what they were doing. He would then steer the money to one of two places: either an SAT or ACT administrator, or a college athletic coach.

The coaches would allegedly arrange a fake profile that listed the prospective student as an athlete, and exam administrators would either hire proctors to take the test or correct the answers of a student.

The bribes ranged from a few thousand dollars to up to 6 million, according to officials. The charging documents, unsealed in Boston federal court, are more than 200 pages long

Jeeezus. Half a million just to lie about your kids being rowers? For the "privilege" of then paying $70k/yr in tuition? That is beyond pathetic. Once again, so glad I stopped donating to the shit show that is USC these days.

"Federal prosecutors in Boston charged William "Rick" Singer, 58, with running the racketeering scheme through his Edge College & Career Network, which served a roster of clients including chief executives and Hollywood actresses....

On a call with a wealthy parent, prosecutors said, Singer summed up his business thusly: "What we do is help the wealthiest families in the U.S. get their kids into school ... my families want a guarantee."

Sickening. Meanwhile my kid has worked her ass off and wouldn't have a shot at any of those schools.

It's counter-intuitive. Would be a better investment just to buy a small company and let the child run it after he/she gets a degree from anyschool USA.

What value really, comes from getting IN to a college for that amount? I have read that tuition waivers might be involved which would really piss me off. If the phuckers want to be admitted that bad, then pay the tuition.

Protest still a go for 2:30. Doesn't feel right on the timing since Saturday the message was loud and clear. But if it makes the board and president work to salvage Wade instead of just their own asses for once I'm good with it.

It's @ Nicholson Gateway / Mathernes across from the stadium.
