no, its right because its right. that everyone does it is evidence of selective enforcement. nick saban and coach K are not gonna get popped for paying players. but they pay players.

Discuss Rosa Parks with the person that brought her up; it wasn't me.

I don't disagree that rule changes are needed. NIL was not, however, in place when the allegations against WW occurred. But even if they were to make NIL retroactive, would it allow what WW allegedly did?

If you (rhetorical "you") want to take the approach that the way to fight an unjust rule is to break it, you should be prepared to face the consequences if the powers that be are not impressed with your stance. The NCAA has not, and never has, dealt with a rulebreaker by saying, "maybe we should consider whether this is a good rule to begin with."

its not just me, its everyone that takes the approach that the rule is meant to be broken. they all constantly break it so much that the NCAA changed the rule. thats progress. breaking the rule was the right thing to do. the NCAA should have abandoned all cases for paying players. but the NCAA is a bunch of dimwit fuckfaces.

LSU could have kept wade, gave him a lifetime contract like kansas did after self got popped with level 1 violations. this shows the NCAA the disrespect they deserve.

the NCAA successfully scared LSU by intertwining a bunch of irrelevant football nonsense in the basketball case, such that LSU had to fire wade as a way to signal surrender. football is the cash cow that runs the universe of LSU.

the NCAA actually mentions OBJ on the field handing out cash as evidence of loss of institutional control. bollox.

i disagree and i think legalizing NIL was that sort of self-examination, or i should say the courts forced that self-examination

Good point, and maybe LSU should make the argument that they should have made it retroactive. But then they'd have to prove that what WW did would have been allowed under the NIL rules. The NCAA gave ground very begrudgingly by allowing NIL. I can't see them ever allowing the outright payment of players by schools or coaches.

for sure what wade was doing was not legal under NIL rules. but if he had those NIL opportunities he would/could have easily filtered cash through local business and boosters etc.

my point is that nothing is really ethically wrong with paying players, and that the NCAA is clowns, and i wish LSU would tell them to eat dicks, and i hope that in the future the major conferences leave the NCAA and their dumb rules and wasting everyone's time and money.

because the core of this is that paying players is good. they work hard and earn plenty of money for the NCAA. them cashing in is fine and good. will wade was right to pay them.

Dude, he's gone! You can bring up Rosa Parks, Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton and whoever else you want to throw in there and that's not bringing ya boy back! WW has been given his walking papers and he will never, ever represent LSU in any form or fashion again! WW sank WW's career! Time for you to turn the page and face reality!

i brought it up to help you understand the value of civil disobedience. to obey an unjust rule doesnt help fix the problem. and that fine if you want poor hardworking minority kids to earn billions for the white NCAA bureaucrats and not get paid themselves. but people braver than you, like rosa park and frank williams wade will do whats right, regardless of the rules.
