Here is the exact wording of the Georgia law: "(a) No person shall solicit votes in any manner or by any means or method, nor shall any person distribute or display any campaign material, nor shall any person give, offer to give, or participate in the giving of any money or gifts, including, but not limited to, food and drink, to an elector, nor shall any person solicit signatures for any petition, nor shall any person, other than election officials discharging their duties, establish or set up any tables or booths on any day in which ballots are being cast (1) Within 150 feet of the outer edge of any building within which a polling place is established; (2) Within any polling place; or (3) Within 25 feet of any voter standing in line to vote at any polling place." Notice that there is NOTHING in that law that supports what shane0911 says. There is no mention, whatsoever, that only certain party or campaign officials are prohibited from passing out food and water. The law criminalizes it for ANYBODY. Per PolitiFact: Keith Williams, general counsel to Republican House Speaker David Ralston, told PolitiFact: "Any individual other than a worker at a polling place is prohibited from handing out water, etc., within 150 feet of a polling place or within 25 feet of the line." Yes, there is a separate provision that allows election officials to set up water and food stations at the polling places but nothing in the law REQUIRES it, so hack election officials can let those voters sweat and starve in long lines if they so partisanly choose. Typical Republican dishonesty. They subtracted far more dates, particularly convenient ones, than they added. So, just as he is with almost every matter, shane0911 is full of shit. And by extension, all those who swallowed his shit are full of it, too.
so the insidious republicans would purposely put in wording allowing for food/drink from non partisan sources, but in turn would then deny voters purposely from receiving it on election days… I can see how this gambit would tilt the election for the gop… I guess this sounded good in your head? carry on
Huh? They DIDN'T "purposely put in wording allowing for food/drink from non partisan sources," Reading is fundamental.
are election officials partisan? no, not on Election Day… again you try to parse words and determine intent based on your supposition. you’ll need to do better or just finds topics you can better converse in… while you are always predictable you are now becoming boring….
Okay here's the thing...In some locations you will have to show your ID and Vaccine passport to get into a building to vote. Then you show no ID to vote. Does this make sense to anyone? ID and vaccine passport to get into any building but not to vote?
