Charles Scott is getting Heisman love from Sports Illustrated:

    3. Charles Scott, LSU, RB, Jr.
Last week: 27 rushes, 141 yards, 2 TDs in a 34-24 victory over Mississippi State.
    Season: 71 rushes, 535 yards, 6 TDs; 4 receptions, 37 yards.
Heisman-o-meter: In a season where the top preseason running back candidates (Beanie Wells, Moreno, Joe McKnight and LeSean McCoy) have all dropped off the list for one reason or another, Scott has been a big, bruising, bulldozing surprise with his physical running style. He did it again Saturday by getting 99 of his rushing yards in the second half, dragging Bulldogs defenders on his way. The catalyst for the Tigers' offense, Scott has been what we thought Wells would be for Ohio State.
Up next: Oct. 11 at Florida.

He's got 3600 now. Not bad considering the leaders in the poll got a 5 day head start because Scott wasn't even listed yet.

unfortunately he has basically zero shot to win it. no hype coming into the season means most all the idiots who vote will be looking for a name they recognize like beanie wells when they cast.

he'd have to have a troy davis type season breaking 2000 yards or something to bring it to their attention before they'd even consider it.

nevermind he did it for iowa state.

damn didnt the saints draft that dude. musta been ditka.

It all depends on how LSU does. He's on pace for 1500+ yards. If he puts up those kind of numbers and LSU makes it to the BCS NC, I gotta think he's at least invited to New York. Remember, "it's the best player on the best team" award.
