Screw the stupid Pittsburg Pirates, they reportedly signed Von Rosenberg so after all the stories of how he wanted to play at LSU are bull**** :bncry:
Me too. And I can't hate on a kid, even for saying it his dream to play for LSU, when I probably would have made the same exact decision.
ouch. i was really expecting this kid to play at LSU. i can't blame him for the money, but this **** ruins college baseball. what's he going to do now? sit and play minor league ball? come to LSU and shine fool. get in the spotlight. of course i'd pretty much do anything if someone was dangling that much jack in front of my face.
Read this in the paper this morning. Pittsburgh dangled late first round to second round dough in front of the kid. It's going to give him some spending cash right now but is any 18 year old kid ready to beat the roads in the minors for a few years. I haven't met many 18 year olds that mature. Come to LSU and develop quality memories, maturity, and some good trophies before venturing out on your own. Oh well.
Eh, Pittsburgh needs him more than we do. I wish him well. We're still the defending champs and have plenty of talent coming in.
right, i agree, but this dude... man i just wish LSU could get just ONE of these types of players before i die.
He got a lot more money than he expected for his draft position. He never said he was going to LSU no matter how much money they threw at him. He was a super prospect and an LSU fan. It would have been great to have him, but the kid did the right thing. He got an offer that would have been stupid to refuse. I'm very sorry he will not make it to campus, but happy he gets the chance to fulfill a dream and get paid big bucks to do it. Good luck to him.
maybe so. but was his dream to play MLB or to make big money? not saying that he can't do both. but i'd think that the competition at LSU is probably just as good (if not better) than minor league ball.
