I thought it was about time for the annual, "Why doesn't LSU let its players wear visors?" thread. Let it be known that I am not a supporter of this cause, but I thought I'd get the ball rolling. Feel free to include such additional requests as, "Why doesn't LSU wear such and such colored jerseys and helmets?" Talk amongst yourselves...
I like clear ones. The bright yellow or greenish ones = no thanks. But I like the clear ones for safety.
I believe that the SEC doen't allow tinted visors. In 2007 Chevis Jackson recieved an eye injury during the UK game. The following week versus Auburn he was wearing the shaded visor. Tubby complained to refs, Jackson had to remove the visor. I think he ended up playing with a clear one. I'll have to rewatch the copy of the game that I have.:helmet::LSU231:
The NCAA doesnt allow tinted visors anymore unless you have a medical excuse. The LSU coaching staff doesnt let their players wear them (at least thats the rumor)...what is the reason for it?
As far as I know they only let our players wear them if there is a medical condition... Like Chevis. I don't think anyone can wear a tnted visor at all like TigerBait3 said. Otherwise I don't think they would have made Chevis change to a clear one during the Auburn game after tubbs complained. Not sure why, I don't have a problem with it. Could be a team unity thing, everyone does the same thing... I don't know. I'm grasping at straws...;-)
