Mr. McNight had some funny money buisness attatched to his recruitment in Cali....not a very good example....on the opposite end of that spectrum LSU has attracted the like of QB Hayden Rettig from Los Angeles CA who is right there in pac 10 country.
Like it or not, McKnight is a viable example. Let's be real, Rettig committed to LSU in large part because USC, Oregon, and Cal didn't offer him. Looking at his offer sheet, it was an easy pick for him, no one knew UCLA would be any good and the next best team is who? Auburn? I'm not downing him by any means, just looking at the facts. LSU also attracted someone named Gunner Kiel out of Indiana, we see how that worked out.
Rettig commited in May.....before his senior season, that's alot of the reason he does not have alot of offers, usc was recruiting him, you dont send out some one top recruit him if your not going to offer, he gave out his commitment before his senior season, so alot of people backed off.
Not Really...He was in serious contact with all of those programs and then he missed his whole senior year due to injury. Contact came to a stand still and LSU got on him before his senior season. After he started blowing it up again. The big teams starting calling again. He has been saying too late.
