Just had to get this out there.

Whats with the infatuation? He does more with less? No, he doesnt recruit as well as others. Only Beamer gets credit for being lazy and we act like coaches like Miles dont work hard in recruiting - the recruits just come to them. Truth is he actually doesnt work in the winter.

They never go out and dominate OOC opponents.

He is a top coach and did a great job turning the program around. He is also a top coach that was in the Big East and now the ACC. Congrats.

each team won the home game. good for them.

what other big games have the played recently? auburn, georgia, usc, lsu, kansas? they lost all of them.

theyll continue to beat poor teams with big names - fsu, miami, nebraska...and the media will love them.

    He does more with less.

Not sure what you don't get about it.

I will also add however, he is good for screwing up 1 crucial game each year as well.

I would still put him in the top 10 collegiate football coaches right now.

    He does get it...

Think he's just saying that instead of being praised for that, he should be looked at in the other light in that he's part of the reason they always have less because of poor recruiting.

Back when we played them in 07, their forum was all about "If we could just recruit the 4 and 5 star players like the SEC instead of the 3 star players the ACC is left with" . He does more with less.

    Probably right.

Does he? I mean, he beats the teams with less talent - Maryland, NC State, Duke, etc. And he splits games with teams that have similar talent levels - Miami, FSU, BC, LSU.

How is this different than any other coach?

Arent Grobe and Johnson the two men that really do more with less in the ACC?

Correct. Their state puts out tons of top talent annually. They generally get a couple of the top ten guys. That's terrible. Yet somehow we praise him for it?

when did the NCAA make a rule saying 4-5 star players have to play in the SEC?

Florida State and Miami get 'em. North Carolina is starting to get 'em.

Virginia is a good talent-rich state. No reason they should recruit that poorly.

13 4-star players in the state in 2009.

Sign 10 of those, you have the backbone of a great class already.

Everyone in the state's Top 30 is at least a 3-star.

It's no Texas or Florida or even a Louisiana, but it's not exactly South Dakota, either. If you monopolize Virginia, you'll have some very solid recruiting classes.
