Today was a Texans nightmare. They could not have scripted a worse game. Carr was his typical below average self. VY was nothing special, until it mattered most. I'm so sick of people bad-mouthing Mario Williams though. It's as if it was his choice to be the #1 pick, and he's playing pretty well, despite a crippling injury. In hindsight, the Texans clearly blew it. I'll give Kubiak the benefit of the doubt for thinking he could work with Carr, and address their defense. It didn't work out, and that's going to haunt them for a very long time.
I think Kubiak was looking to either this years draft or maybe even next years and get a qb that will fit better into his style of play.
I'd like to think you're right. However, he seemed to genuinely think that Carr had a ton of potential. I did as well. It's just unfortunate that he was first meeting Carr when both VY and Leinart were available. I don't see similarly talented QBs in the upcoming drafts, as they offer the best of the two main types of QBs. Oh well... I'm still optimistic that the Texans can turn this mofo around. They seem to draft A LOT better now, and a few years of that will pay big dividends.
