Totally agree on the transparency. Above all, I want to see Goodell get skewered. He'd mucking with the wrong fan base here.
He's not gonna win. There's too much burden of proof on his part. But, I like the sentiment that he's not going to just sit around and let Goodell sully his good name. It will also force the NFL's hand to show what proof it does or doesn't have.
I was listening to WWL about Vilma's suit. According to the atty they had on, since Vilma is a public figure, he has almost zero chance of winning a libel suit.
Mike Triplett for nola.com is reporting that his interview with Scott Shanle (conducted a few weeks after Vilma and co. got their penalties) is included in the NFL's "evidence" that they'll be using in the appeal next week. Really? You're using a newspaper interview that pretty much blows up your case as evidence in your favor? An interview published weeks after you made your decision? The absurdity of this entire issue knows no bounds.
