Watch it again, less than 2 seconds and they were on him. There were others where he held the ball but I didn't count those. He has to have at least 3 seconds or the line isn't doing their job. 3 won't even cut it against Bama though.

Some people here thing you are supposed to make 3 reads before 2 seconds. Ignoring the fact that Harris is also under center and not shot-gun majority of the time.....

He was running for his life a lot. But he needs to run in half those situations as asign said instead of throwing one high.

Also it's become quite obvious malachi is a diva. He doesn't have the want Harris needs in a receiver.

This was what I was saying after the game. He needs to be on one read and then run. Maybe one read, look for the dump off and run. Nothing more. if he gets immediate pressure in his face and gets away from it just run it. He's way too athletic to not take advantage of that part of his ability.

Really, it all comes back to decision making, which at this point I have zero confidence in him when under pressure.

All the pressure I saw up the middle that happened in under 3 seconds were on designed 1 step drop quick passes with very different blocking schemes than a typical 3 step drop call for. Those plays are designed for the qb to throw the ball behind the LOS or very short passes in less than 2 seconds and have blocking schemes to match allowing for the potential of downfield blocking as blocking on the line is much less critical on those designed plays. Much more akin to run blocking than typical drop back pass blocking. IMO Harris had plenty time for the vast majority of his attempts. The line did a decent job(not great just decent) harris just can't play in this offense which is on miles. For a qb that is comfortable in the system and has to physical abilities necessary to run that system the little pressure in this game would not have affected him at all. To me this all came down to miles refusing to either adjust to his qbs abilities or recruit a qb that fits his system.

Thats the coaches more than likely telling him to find a WR and not run. He has the speed to get yards.

He should def be running much more often esp on those downs he's had the ball 5+ seconds and still just dancing around. A lot of those he's got a lot of field in front him with a lot of defenders back turned or finally making their way into the backfield

Agreed, Dupre is no Landry nor Beckham that's for sure.

Dupre was graded very poorly during that game. While some of those balls weren't perfect, WR's have to make plays.

I still cannot ignore Harris's last pass. There is no getting by how bad it was.
