I hope you weren't saying I called someone out, in fact I made a point of stating that I wasn't.

Also here is a video to go with my previous post. Sure sounds like he is only interested in a move up.

I never said I had proof, just said i'm willing to bet, but reading the quotes of the people involved points in the direction that he was not offered the job, contacted maybe but imo not offered... big difference. But Grad says:

Which is basically saying he has proof. Which I challenged him to share.

Ed proved that he is a great recruiter and DL coach but definitely not HC material. Nutt took Ed's recruits and turned them into a team from the disaster that Ed left. He would be great as a DL coach at LSU, I just don't see him leaving the NFL for the same position at LSU. I really hope I'm wrong on this one.

I was afraid this was gonna happen VK would not turn down a DC job here unless KS offered the assist head coaches spot. He'll probably be the head coach there next season.

O Well there's still time and good enough guys still out there.

In that video it does come across like he's only interested in coming to LSU as our DC. Ed O's a heck of a recruiter and a heck of a DL coach, but his Ole Miss D got progressively worse each year he was head coach there. But I imagine he'd be better than Mallveto.

i'm not quite sure why LSU fans have a problem with this.

sure we "lost" a guy to his alma mater who was more or less promised to be the head guy there one day. were we gonna promise koenning a head coaching job??? No?? then he moved on.

this isn't the end of the world.

So would my little girl but I'm not faxing her resume in to the athletic dept. I sure hope Miles pulls a rabbit out of the hat. I hope there are some rabbits left when/if he ever decides to stick his hand in to grab one. The thought of going into next season with the two headed monster even if one head is removed is extremely repugnant!

Let's not panic or get our drawers in an uproar. Koennig was not the only coach available, or even the best. Chavis is a better choice in my opinion. And Bumpas and Spaziani are better than Chavis. Unfortunately LSU does not appear to be terribly interested in the last two.

No, it is saying there is no way in hell we can settle such a bet because there is no way in hell either of us can prove anything. No need to be so vicious in arguing it.

I have never claimed to be in the know, nor do I believe I am in the know now. However, I am certain in this instance that Koenning was offered the job. I was shocked when it was not accepted by the end of last week.

Today's information clears it up though. I am anxious to see the details of the offer. He likely got a deal that he could not refuse. Especially considering his roots there.

One thing is good though, I am pretty happy he did not accept the position here. I really really REALLY hope to see a pressure oriented defense on the field next year.
