LSU did not lose to K-State... we never offered him the phuckin job. Just like we haven't offered anyone else. Hell we have not even formally spoken to anyone, all we've done was compile a list of names. Read the entire states group of newspapers, THERE'S NO DC AVAILABILITY AT LSU... and until there is, we will not talk with anyone... all top quality DCs that we could've chosen will be taken and we'll not make staff changes.
Posted on Mike Scarborough's TigerBait.com: Koenning Returns to Alma Mater KSU Sports Information GoPowercat.com December 8, 2008 One of the nation's top defensive coaches has joined the Kansas State football staff http://www.lsu.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=886809
Whoa I was just saying that if all the other information was true that it was Koenning's job to accept. It this information was true, then yes it is bad that LSU lost out to K-State. And if our defense and QB play continues as bad as it was this year, LSU will join K-State in the land of national irrelevance.
Miles takes the handoff and runs right....FUMBLE!!!!!!!! I really really hope I'm wrong but this is starting to look like an episode of the three stooges. First a Dinardo style move promoting two undeserving assistants to a job way above their heads. Then standing on the sideline watching as the best candidates get scooped up. I hope Miles actually has a plan and the nads to implement it. From the outside looking in it looks like mass confusion.:bncry::bncry::bncry:
If you read every single article that has been published on this topic from newspapers to sports writers since the day after the Arky game, all quotes given by Koenning match exactly that of Chavis', bth said the exact same thing. "Heck yeah i'd love to talk to LSU, Heck yeah i'd love to be at LSU" ... ... But ... ... "I VK, I Chavis have not spoken with LSU about their DC position as there's no job openings there. All positions on the staff are currently filled"
Here in an interesting opinion I just read: Miles...has his DC, but the DC has asked not to announce, whether still coaching for bowl, or wants time to talk to others being considered for def. staff who are still coaching, etc. This coincides with Miles' desire to save face for his current assts who will be ultimately replaced, and keeping his decisions private. He realizes that assembling an elite def staff is far more important than to win a 2nd tier bowl game. Don't you find it ironic that Chavis has interviewed for Clemson, but not taken the job when we haven't heard of other candidates (at least I haven't)? Coach O has a great offer in Tenn, but hasn't taken that job either? Koenning is a done deal to K state...I think he was waiting for the "coach in waiting" offer to join the DC offer from his mentor, Snyder. Tenuta is the wild card. EITHER WAY,...MILES...IS THE 2007 NC COACH AND...HE KNOWS WHAT IS AT STAKE...HE KNOWS THIS IS A DEFINING HIRE FOR HIM. Cut him some slack, giving the benefit of the doubt, and for just once, trust the guy to do a good job. GEAUX TIGERS!
