I think the QB grade is based on Mett's potential although B- is high. We have no proven WR's at all. Plenty of talent, but it's just potential. Hard to give anyone a higher grade before they prove they are up to the task. They have the potential to earn an A very early on, we'll see.

He hasn't proven to be anything better than average so far. Hopefully this will be his break out season.

It's kind of hard to be better than average given his circumstances

He's has never worked with a capable quarterback but the guy has undeniable talent.

I had this very discussion with a friend Saturday at coffee. Stats hell, watch film. Guy has the tools, I saw PLENTY to know he's "proven". Trust me, he's legit and will have a great year if we can get him the ball which is why red is correct saying they have it backwards.

this one grades our QBs a 7, and our WRs/TEs an 8

it's hard to say who is better between our QBs and WRs. we have two very good, experienced QBs in JJ and Lee, and Mett should be as good as them in a year or two. but at WR, we have very good WRs, but they don't have as much experience. Shep just did his first year ever at WR last year, and Randle didn't play WR his senior year of high school, and only has one year experience as one of our top 2 WRs. Randle reminds me of Lafell back when Lafell was a sophomore... not very impressive. but as a junior and a season, Lafell was a beast, so i won't be surprised if Randle turns out that way too

note that JJ did much better as a sophomore when he had senior Lafell/junior TT as his 1 and 2, but then when he had senior TT/soph Randle as his 1 and 2, he did worse... which is not surprising being that neither TT or Randle last year were close to how good Lafell was a senior. the worse your WRs, the worse your QB is going to look, and vice versa. this year, we'll have junior Randle/junior Shep as our 1 and 2, and hopefully they are better than senior TT/soph Randle. i also like a lot of the depth we have at WR and i hope some of them step up

of course, the biggest problem last year might have very well been our offensive coordinator/QB coach, and getting a new guy should improve our whole offense, making both our QBs and WRs look better

This. WHEN we get him the ball, he's the best athlete on the field. He has speed, moves, size, and great hands...just waiting for someone to get him the ball!
