Well I'm guilty for not going to the game Saturday but when I go to any LSU game I stay until the last snap of every game... I love watching my tigers... When I do give my tickets up I give them to people are religious LSU fans...
I have only left early when I was a guest of another couple. Other than that, I love staying until the end. Since CLM, I enjoy staying and singing the Alma Mater along with them.
My experience has been that the crowds start thinning out early for non-conference games or SEC games that are no longer in doubt midway through the 3rd Q. I have no answer for last night unless they lost faith and didn't want to see us lose to a hated rival. But I hate to think that many fickle, fairweather fans. I'll give you the clueless drunks that only go for status, but that's only a small minority. What about the others? Do they just prefer to finish watching the game from their tailgating spot or do they want to beat the traffic? I guess it's probably some of both. I hope the students stay for the whole game.
I don't know how many people were there to begin with. I was on the west/south goal line, and didn't notice people leaving early - it was empty from the get go.
So why do they leave? Is it the 2hr wait sitting in bumper to bumper traffic when the game is over? If that's the case, then do what alot of people do and go back to your tailgate until the bulk of the traffic clears out.
