You probably feel that way because LSU was the last SEC team to win there.
Four straight wins by the ACC isn't exactly an impressive showing by the SEC.

In the mean time, Richt has gone 7-0 against ACC teams.
    4-0 vs Georgia tech
    2-0 vs Clemson
    1-0 vs FSU

The only way to the Sugar Bowl is through Atlanta.

I guess I'm kind of pissed about Miles primarily because this choice will probably strengthen Auburn even more. Auburn is Georgia's oldest rival.
This is going to tip the balance of power in the SEC West dramatically.

I can visualize seeing several LSU recruits going elsewhere. Heck, if I were an LSU commit, I'd be planning several other recruiting visits right this minute!

Thats because UGA has a rivalry in the ACC... ala GT. Richt is a good coach, don't get me wrong, but Saban wasn't FEARED when he came to the SEC, we will give Miles a chance and maybe he becomes the next SOS and maybe not, we will see. Did you think that Richt would be the next Dooley when he was first hired ?

Remind me again where Mark Richt was a HC before Georgia? And while you are at it remind me where Stoops was head coach before OU?

And then go ahead and tell me how Saban was really getting the job done at MSU. Also Jim Tressel getting it done at a Div II School goes on to win NC at Ohio State. Not exactly stellar resumes between these 4 names at the time of their hiring.

Truth be told not a one of these coaches would have been hired at their respective university if fans and message board posters would have their way. Good thing it is not up to us.

You and the rest of the SEC's automatic dismissal of this hire is great news. Truth be told I would probably be saying the same things just if a rival SEC college hired him. And that would only be due to my ignorance, and due the fact that his name is not mentioned on Sportscenter. Keep telling yourself LSU is no longer a threat to Ga. :thumb:

Mark Richt was the OC for an undefeated NC team at FSU.
And Mark Richt was only paid $852 K his first year as an untested HC, not $2 million.
And Mark Richt coached 2 Heisman trophy winners.
And Mark Richt has had the best winning percentage in the SEC over the past 4 years. (.820)

But I still felt that Saban was the better coach of the two.

LSU is not to be feared any more...

Miles is a big step down! No joke!

But keep telling yourself that Miles is a good hire while even the folks on Woopig are laughing that you found someone worse than Houston Nutt!

Point is Miles is more qualified a hire at this time then Richt was when he was hired. And Miles is more qualified than Jim Tressel and Mike Stoops when they were hired.

And before you tell me Richt was more qualified, remind me of how many teams are beating down Norm Chow's door right now?
Miles turned down Bama a few years ago and has long been looked at by Michigan as a replacement to Carr. Just sit back and watch Chipper.

Jim Tressel? Won a NC at another level.
Richt and Stoops both coached on NC staffs. (Richt 93 and 99)(Stoops 96)

Miles is qualified to be a mediocre hire.

Have you ever watched Miles during a press conference?
