I didn't get to read all the posts but I hear this about most announcers. Sorry if I have repeated someone. As a fan, you pick up things about the team you have rooting interest for and unfortunately fans take it personal. You can go to the other teams board and hear the same thing about the same announcer saying the same thing. "He's a douche, he hates us, big ten lover, pac ten lover. It's like your kid. You watch what he does and thinks he needs to be shortstop, quarterback or point guard and you don't pay attention to what the other the other kids are doing. Let it go, I think they are all pretty even on each side except we take what they say to personal most of the time. Play the game back and listen as an Ole Miss fan (almost threw up in my mouth) and I bet they say things that would piss them off too. I consider myself a huge LSU fan and sometimes I go blank on a number of a player and have to think. I have huge appreciation that these guys can do as well as they do since they cover 12 teams in this conference. Yes, they get paid well but dang I'd imagine I would have a few hiccups too. Anyhow, yes Verne is a big un and hope he doesn't have a heart attack soon but I haven't heard anything from him or Danielson that makes me cringe.
I personally think the games would be far more boring without Verne. He does some pretty randomly, crazy things. And The mistakes are part of it. You try having a few glasses of whiskey of then remember the names of 120 people and recall it on a split second play. . . As people from Louisiana, can we really fault a person who likes a few swigs of bourbon before the game starts? Remember. The guy has to learn two new sets of rosters each week. I'll take Verne any night over the Hasselberg (or w/e his name is) from ESPN. The guy is a total homer and in the words of Bo Pelini talking to a ref, a CS.
Hmmm, then does that make you Debbie Downer? I'll bet you're the proverbial life of every party you go to dude. :hihi:
I am really confused by this statement. You act as if you WANT this to happen to prove yourself right. You winning an argument is more important than "your" team winning? And you're a  fan? RIIIIIIIIIIIGHT. :rolleye33: I grew up in the 60's and '70's, rooting for a team that never really ever got close to a championship and I still rooted for them all the same. These are special times, and most of us realize this. Sadly, you never will.
