Ok not necessarily LSU related, and not looking "ahead" as far as the Tigers go, but is it time to seriously consider that this may happen? Look at the East, UF and UGA don't appear to be quite as good as advertised, and both have a conference loss. UT is in total disarray, USCe is USCe. Vandy is 2-0 in SEC play, and UK is 1-1, having played a tough game at Tuscaloosa. I'm not saying either will definitely get there, but this is obviously the first time I have ever seen this as an actual possibility. What do y'all think? Should've made this a poll, I guess.
Even more to my point, then. I don't know what it says about Auburn, but I don't think Vandy's win was any more of a fluke than Alabama's over Kentucky.
i hope so. would be great for the conference. i say they both have a good shot since they dont play LSU this year.:miles:
Let's go a little further and assume LSU beats Florida and Georgia. Also assume that Vandy beats Miss State Saturday (none of these are givens). That would put both Georgia and Florida with 2 SEC losses. Vandy would be cruising at 4-0 after Saturday. That means if they can take care of business with Miss State and Kentucky, they would have UGA, UT, and UF to deal with. They can go 1-2 with those games and still win the East. Here's how: Let's assume that Tennessee loses to Georgia this weekend. That makes Tennessee out of the SEC East race. If Vandy were to go 1-2, losing to UT and beating the winner of the Cocktail Party, they win the East. Final standings: Vandy: 6-2 Georgia/Florida winner: 6-2 Georgia/Florida loser: 5-3 Tennessee: At BEST 5-3 USC: At BEST 6-2 with a loss to Vandy Kentucky: At BEST 6-2 with a loss to Vandy. Geaux Dores!!!
Vandy will NOT lose to UT. Why do people keep referring to the Vols like they are a decent football team. They are beyond pathetic.
In your scenario, though, if Vandy loses to either UGA or UF and that team ties Vandy, then that team gets the nod due to the h2h tiebreaker.
