back in the june jones' days hawaii was almost an automatic cover like boise on the blue turf. especially against a ranked team with a big number. vegas adjusted albeit slowly while hawaii got a lot worse evening it out.
One of the many great things about this forum is that the sunshine pumpers and the doomsayers give each other perspective. That said, I think this will be a hard faught game that will be close thru 2 1\2 qtrs, then LSU will pull away. Holding Vandy to less than 13 pts and 275yds would make me happy. LSU 27 Vandy 13
Ever heard of Monday Night Football? And I assure you a baseball game that starts at 7pm will go much later than this football game. Anyway, the Tigers were better in the SECOND half than the first. That's what everyone has been saying in defense...they improved after halftime. Your point = very very moot. You know what though? It's really over. It is almost gameday again. I'm moving on to Vandy, and hope to see you guys there.
Probably a TV decision...especially with the ESPN deal. Same reason we start at 6 this weekend...because of the ESPN channel we're on.
Offense should not be an issue for LSU all year. Scoring wasn't a problem last year, and we're better (except maybe on OL, that might end up being a push) this year. Defensive line is the key, I think. If they can force Vandy's young QB to throw in predictable situations, and then get to him, I think LSU wins easily. If LSU struggles against Vandy, it doesn't mean anything except that we're in for another cardiac cats kind of season. If LSU struggles against ULL - that's a different story.
I was thinking something similar along these lines. What would we all think if the Tigers played ugly, but mistake free all year and ended up 10-2?
2006 Florida won a championship on ugly. They won a LOT of close games. Nobody ever proclaimed them world-beaters. Fish - I call a truce...for now! :thumb: It's almost GAMEDAY!!
'92 Alabama too...probably the ugliest undefeated team ever...yet they beat the crap out of the U in the Sugar for their 187th NC. They were an ugly undefeated team last year too...until they quit on their coach...or vice versa. - And it's a good thing you called truce. I had my posse ready...we were coming to look for you, pal.
