MSU's largest lead of the game was only 7... MSU ended up winning the game with a handful of seconds left by hitting a 3-pointer... right after Taz hit an incredible 3 that sent the LSU fans in the P-Mac into an eruption like we had just won the National Championship or something. Announcers were talking about how it was one of the craziest endings to a game they have ever seen. Heart-breaking for LSU.
John I was there and I am sick. What the hell do we have to do to get a win? Tas was defintly fouled there at the end but it dont matter b.c we were not in the bouns. The shot MSU made was guarded as well as it could be. Bo cost this game again hes got to be bench. Ok I will shut up now. Geaux tigers lets get our first win Wednesday nite.
That's just a killer. I don't know what CTJ can say to these guys now. You hope they don't mail it in for the rest of the season but after a loss like that, jeez.
I'd still rather watch a Trent Johnson coached team lose than a John Brady team win. I have confidence in Trent Johnson down the road. The guy I really feel bad for is Tasmin Mitchell. Talk about being on both ends of the spectrum, he's seen it all at LSU. Final Four as a freshman, two mediocre Brady seasons to follow, a season lost to injuries, another SEC title, and now a potential winless SEC season. Sucks for him to have to go out like this.
Good news regarding Taz, is that not only did he have a hell of a game (25 points, 9 rebounds), but he passed Bob Pettit (1,916 points) to become the #5 all-time scorer in LSU basketball history with 1,926 points. In Wednesday’s game against Arkansas, he’ll have a good shot at moving into third place by passing Shaquille O’Neal (1,941) and Howard Carter (1,942). "It’s an honor to be among the greats of LSU," Mitchell said, "but I’m not too much worried about it right now." "Oh, yes sir, by far, " said LSU forward Tasmin Mitchell, who was asked if the loss hurt worse than the past 11. "To see 0-12 on the side of our SEC record really hurts. I'm hurt by it, but I'm not going to sit back and just stop playing because we're 0-12."
Yeah, couldn't watch the game, but as I was watching the last few minutes on the internet, I was just saying to myself, "we just can't catch a break." My biggest thought was "did we break down defensively in the last 8 seconds?" It's at least good to hear that MSU had to hit a tough three. But MAN, this one hurts. But, keep the faith fans. As I've said before, to all of those who think next year's team can't be a lot better. The Tigers played well with the SEC West leading Bulldogs, and show that there's such a fine line between being good and not so good. We outrebound the Bulldogs (who have Varnado), but our shooting again sort of hurts us. Although the 40% 3 point shooting for us in the second half keeps us really close. Dennis Harris continues to get better, and Warren played better in the second half. As long as they keep playing this hard and keep their heads up--that's all you can ask.
Nice command of the King's English, Sparky. Yeah, If we didn't have Bo Spencer we'd probably be right there at the top of the SEC.:dis:
Wow -- just one of those years I guess. Tough to watch; I feel bad for these guys, they've played hard all year... :geauxtige
Damn Cox Digi guide didn't list the game. I didn't find out it was on until my son came out and told me about Spensor's desperation shot. I feel for this team and Taz but the future looks bright. Just wish they could get a win soon.
