I may lose my mind after learning how incompetent and disorganized the cops were. https://www.wsj.com/articles/texas-...M3UEQ5J9T0R6yhVG6r5UX6QANBoBuYfgikGoI828a4qE8 It begs the question: if the police are terrified of a teenager with an AR-15, should a teenager legally have an AR-15?
What if he had a semi automatic rifle with say 10 spare clips other than an AR 15? What if he had several semi automatic handguns with say 10 spare clips?
I'd say its a fair question. Is this one fair: After two years of listening to Americans chant "F**k the Police","Defund the Police", and "What do we want? Dead cops!", are LEO's starting to question whether the job is worth risking their lives?
From another site. This babe is who I want on our side. Got more guts and testosterone than 2 or o girly men here. https://nypost.com/2022/05/26/texas...cuffed-mom-before-she-ran-in-to-get-her-kids/
Yeah, it's fair. But I think it's a stretch: - Fuck the Police was a song back in 1988 - not a new sentiment - "Some people are mean to us" is not an excuse to be apathetic and cowardly. Their inaction cost the lives of children. - A way to win some skeptics of policing back would be acting courageously when our most vulnerable people need it. Uvalde has created more de-funders. What are we getting for our tax dollars? Looks to be.....nothing. - The woman in the post directly above? Yes, a hero. The police handcuffed her outside the school - maybe the only proactive thing they managed to do in the hour that they were mostly standing around.
No. Not for something like that, at least. I didn’t realize how fucked up that whole situation was until this morning. I would absolutely love to know what exactly the breakdown was.
As I said earlier there are no one shot solutions. Neither taking guns away or armoring schools is realistic or possible. It will take multiple avenues to address the many causes of these events and the different paths they take. just like the concept of eliminating semi-automatic weapons is laughable so is the idea that any limitation on arms is contrary to the second amendment. One other significant point detailed in the following article is that in the last 50 years every mass murderer has signaled his intent prior to acting out. Signs that were either not recognized or ignored or couldn’t be acted on. There is a potentially significant aide to using these signs to thwart the killers, red flag laws. Interestingly this is one idea that finds support on both sides of the aisle. They have been enacted in both blue and red states. Maybe this could be a good first step. https://newsletters.theatlantic.com...valde-robb-elementary-shooting-red-flag-laws/
If nothing else is done, funding for cameras mounted throughout each and every school in the country should be mandatory, with local PD having direct monitoring access. That would cut down on the unknowns and reduce police hesitancy in entering the building and identifying where the bad guy is.
Camera's? Cameras won't take the shooter out just tell you who he is which means the police will be there to see how many is dead. Wouldn't hurt to have them but wouldn't save lives. ARMED security guards at every school and ARMED teachers. Also volunteer retired military patrolling the area and red flag social media. Problem is these woke teachers will not arm themselves and will put their students and themselves at risk. Why are all the places below protected with guns but our most precious aren't. The below is true and a disgrace schools are not #1 priority.
that’s the wrong question. If a cop is afraid to put their life on the line, in any situation, they lied when they applied.
