What is it about athletic nicknames from that region of America? We got hokies and hoos and hoyas (oh my!). I'm glad for the explanation of "Hoo" because I was wondering if it was another classical (Hoya, hoya saxa) or nonsensical allusion (hoki, hokie) regarding a college cheer. I'm still confused about a drinking fish. We know a lot about fish in Louisiana, but I never heard about a fish drinking twice it's weight. The only advice to you hoos out there is not to even try to outdrink a tiger because...just like in baseball...the tigers will be the last ones standing. .
Welcome to the hoos visiting our fair forum! Congrats on your first visit to Omaha! I spent a week at UVA in the 80's, like a one week management training by about 5 of the PHD's in the business school, great guys, and great experience. They took us jogging into the hills around campus, and it was a great experience. The old dorm rooms on the main square are really something, they make you think about the history that has passed... It's a great campus. Got to Monticello, a great week!
I keep reading about this fish that can drink a lot...color me stupid, but was anyone else aware that a fish even drank? Exactly how do you tell when a fish is drinking...and not just breathing?
I'm w/ ya there Salty. I do know this, wahoo are awesome eatin'. To me they are right up there w/ yellowfin, if not better. Looks like we need to grill some wahoo this weekend!
Welcome...sadly the only thing I know about Virginia is the airport in Roanoke and accidently finding the Bristol Speedway while camping on Roan Mountain in Tennessee. Looking forward to the game. Hope you enjoy your time here.
