So the puss-10 pics up Colorado and Utah. Wow, what a powerhouse conference they are now.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
Utah has been pretty good recently, I think its a good pickup for the Pac 10. Now what would be priceless is if Colorodo or Utah wins the Pac 10 next year.
With these additions, one has to wonder if the offer was even on the table for Texas and Oklahoma. PAC 10 members might get hurt.
I think the PAC10 proably pursued UT early on. I think the Horns insisting on being able to form their own TV network probably was the first wrench in the works.
Given Alabama has won 16 consecutive regular season conference games, yet lost badly to Utah, I would suspect Utah could play in any league. And given a very average Alabama (6-6, 4-4 in conference) barely beat a very average (6-6, 4-4 in conference) Colorado team in Shreveport to start their SEC run a few years ago.... I imagine Colorado will be just as average as the average teams in all BCS conferences. So, yeah, I think Utah would be a nice fit in the PAC 10 should it happen.
Don't fool yourself, Utah had the best team in their history and BAMA was way overrated at the time. Colorado is a poor team and has been for years, I don't care who they played a close game with. Neither of those two are teams that scare anyone and are more often than not considered mediocre at best. I don't think anyone can make a valid argument that these two teams improve the strength of an already weak conference.
And they will continue to be a mediocre team until they get rid of Hawkins. Talk about somebody in over his head.
