not sure what's your point considering LSU had nothing to prove to no one last year and could have won by 1 and won their share of the title.

Whereas USC needed the voter's help.

    let's break it down:

USC's loss = to an unranked team (4 wins vs. ranked teams)
Utah = no losses (3 wins vs. ranked teams)
Texas's loss = to top 10 TTech (3, soon to be 4 wins vs. ranked teams)
Florida's loss = to red-hot Ole Miss (5 wins vs. ranked teams with 1 more on the schedule)
OU's loss = to top 5 Texas (5 wins vs. ranked teams with 1 more on the schedule)

    which resume doesn't fit?

He filed the papers to get feedback so apparently he is considering it. Not a great year, I agree but some of it depends on who else is declaring. No danger in testing the waters but IMO he NEEDS another year. His comments after the game yesterday indicated that he would have a hard time leaving school at this point. Damian Williams is staying as is Stafon Johnson. He should stay.

It's sad for Utah but the National Champion WILL BE either Florida or Oklahoma. Utah is better than BYU was in 1984 but that's also a reason we now have the BCS so we can avoid another "undefeated" average team.

Utah is much better than any other previous non-BCS team but to have a chance at the title, they'll need to sustain their program, maintain a high ranking, and continue to play high profile BCS schools.

They can at least make a legitimate argument. Texas probably has the 2nd best argument...followed by USC.

Texas blew their shot late in the season and USC lost to another weak team and needed help late in the season just to make the Rose Bowl parade game.

Pete Carroll doesn't believe in computers but wants select media to determine who plays for the title. Dear PC, win on the field against your weak conference competition...and you'll have your chance.

Congrats Utah!!! I'll give you my #2 vote right behind the UF/OU winner.

I wonder what Brent Musberger's opinion of Utah's win is. He pretty much crowned USC as the AP title winner in the 2nd quarter of the Rose Bowl.
