By years end, sources have reported to OrangeBloods DeLoss Dodds will step down as AD at Texas. Sources say he will then take on a consulting role and will collect his salary of $1.1M through the end of his contract which expires Aug. 2015. Starting to think the seat Mack Brown is sitting in is getting awfully damn warm at this moment, should he lose tomorrow he'll be stepping down by seasons end. Enter the Saban to TX rumors anytime.
Too late, they're already buzzing. I seriously doubt he leaves but depending on what comes of the "situation" they're in, who knows.
The University and Dodds deny there is any truth to this report. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefoo...eloss-dodds-stepping-down-absolutely-not-true
If the Horns continue to suck as badly as they have recently, Dodds and Brown will be "stepping down" alright but not of their own will. Brown threw Diaz to the wolves to save his ass. Not the first time he's thrown one of his coaches under the bus when things were going badly. What's to make him think Dodds won't throw him under the bus to save his ass? Mack Brown is a pretty good guy. He was once a very good coach. But he's not a spring chicken anymore. He's financially very comfortable. He's got a crystal football. Retirement before the game passes him by isn't the worst thing he could do.
Wait a second. They hired a guy to run their athletic dept whose first name is "DeLoss"? Damn, no wonder they suck. The word "loss" is right there in his name!!
Guess we'll just have to wait and see won't we. Saban wasn't going to Miami, and then on several occasions he wasn't going to be the coach at Alabama, until he showed up in Ttown in a Bama jet.
Based on facilities and recruiting territory, UT should win the MNC every year. Saban would be nuts not to go there.
He's doing pretty well facility and recruiting wise where he is. It's not like he's currently underpaid or under appreciated. He never has to rebuild. Unless he justs wants a new challenge there's absolutely no reason in the world for him to leave. Unless these most recent allegations get some legs.
