I am a USL alum. I picked up a Daily Advertiser when I came down a couple of weeks ago and noticed all the UL references on the sports pages and was wondering what was going on. How long have they been campaigning like this? I guess it's been a very long time since I read the local paper, so maybe it's been years.
According to some of your fellow USL alumni, you actually "graduated from Louisiana." I was reading some of the threads on their Scout board there, and I am across sentences such as this: I had an LSU fan sitting right next to me (yes, my older brother graduated from LSU, but never fear I restored the family name and Graduated from Louisiana)... Also, I looked up pictures of their football stadium, and was surprised to find that they write "Louisiana" across their endzones...
The pulled in 41,000 for the Southern game (about half were SU fans) and 16,000 for the KSU game shattering their all-time 2 game attendance record. :lol:
Yes but they had to sell beer to get the 16K for the KSU game! I honestly hope they get competitive in the Sun Belt. I just want their fans to STFU when it comes to LSU, it only underscores their myopic vision of the world.
Let me make sure I understand this. They want to be perceived as THE university, kinda like they want to be Michigan and want y'all to be like Michigan State? And the photo of the stadium; is that the big house or is there a prison in Lafayette? Man, you gotta build on who you are, not what you want someone to think your are. UCLA doesn't have an issue with LA, and everyone, except for the folk on Leno's jaywalking, knows that Boise isn't a state. I don't really see a problem UL-L.
