I went to school there and most everyone called it "University of Slow Learners." or "U Stand in Line."
I stick with the much easier to say U-La-La. That, and it makes them sound like a bunch of girls from Moulin Rouge.
i refer to em as u-la-la. but i still know people who refuse to call em anything but usl. btw, their baseball fans are some of the most obnoxious baseball fans in the world. that right there is enough to detest em.
Being that I grew up very close to ULL, I do pull for them when they are not playing LSU and was happy for that program beating a BCS team last week. How can you not like the name Ragin' Cajuns.
I just keep it simple and call them USL. I don't like it when universities change their names. I still call North Texas North Texas State, which po's my husband. Of course, it was North Texas State when he started there, and UNT when he graduated a decade later.
No one said they hated the name ragin cajuns. We...or I can't stand most of their idiot fans. One guy I know hates LSU so much, he also dislikes the city of Baton Rouge. How dumb is that? I hate the Dallas Cowboys, but LOVE the city of Dallas. Plus, we're playing them this week. I hate all teams we play.
I attend ULL or USL or SLI(whatever u want to call it). I would love to be at LSU but there are circumstances that just wont allow it. I know many people from around here who hate LSU and even Baton Rouge and I know it is just envy. I have been an LSU fan my entire life and keep up with the tigers way more than I do with the cajuns. Im not saying I am not a Cajun fan because I definitely am and will pull for them in every game(except this one). I hope to see a hard fought game on both sides but in the end I want LSU on top.
You know, I really wouldn't have a problem if ULL were actually named 'University of Louisiana'. But it's NOT, and that they're trying to call themselves this is just ridiculous.
