All good posts. I've always been an advocate of doing whatever it takes to win NOW. Ride the horse that brought you.

Miles and this team have their goals in sight. A 10-2 season with a decent bowl W. Finishing this season out with an 11-2 record would give us a top 5 finish, quite remarkable considering that most of us didn't think we would be in this type of position. Of course 2 of the possible loses many had crossed off on their schedule are the upcoming games. I think that Miles and his team, regardless of who plays, want nothing more than to finish out this season on a very high note. That means, play the best at each position available, and play the best they can. I don't see the 2nd tier on the depth charts getting to get significant play time unless we are in control of the games.:geaux: :LSU231: :milesmic:

What would be the purpose of doing this? It sounds like you are saying: "Since we can't win the National Championship this year, let's start preparing for next year".... which is totally ridiculous.

The last two games of the season are very important. Those two games build your momentum going into a bowl game.

Bowl games are nationally televised, highly promoted sports events that draw a large national audience. Losing a bowl game leaves a bad taste in the mouth of fans, coaches, players & recruits for the entire off-season.

These next two games are very important to the LSU football team. It is not the time be thinking about next year.

A 10 win season is vital to sustain the level of recruiting we all have gotten used to..

would make the pitch a little easier wouldn't it. We are right there, and if you come to LSU, you could put us over the top and be part of the next national championship team at LSU.

I think that is a GREAT idea. Tell the seniors thanks for all their efforts and the NC. But they need to rest and be thinking about the pro evaluation camps etc. Play the younger guys and let them get the experience. Maybe you could start this weekend. just saying...;)

If it doesn't work out, go back to full strength for Arkansas.

We'll do it if all your players that are NFL ready do the same... Specifically McCluster.:yelwink2:

Sounds good to me. McCluster may be the "only" one we would have to sit out. And I'm not too sure how the pros look at him. Quick and fast yes, but he is something like
5'7" and 170 lbs. Maybe just as a punt returner. Not sure the bod can take 16 pro games with that caliber players.

If Dante Hall can make the NFL, Dexter McCluster can.
