Thanks for the welcome. lsutiga is quite active on our forums and he's invited me to come over here several times. :thumb: Obviously with Jefferson at QB in your Bowl game your offense was impressive. I however feel that his presence made just as important an impact on the defensive side of the ball though. Throughout the year your D looked listless at times. To me it "felt" like knowing the offense with Lee at QB couldn't move the ball consistently just beat them down mentally. With the offense moving the ball like they did in the Chick-fil-A Bowl the D played at another level.
Florida has scheduled Miami and Florida State---pretty decent programs over the long haul. Telling us that OSU has scheduled a hard OCC schedule when they play Miami of OHIO, Ohio U, Toledo. Whew!! Tough LOL..........By the way when you schedule big games against USC, you need to show up. Getting blown off the field does not give you anything to brag about.
That is what happens when you lose so many players on defense after LSU won the NC. The defensive backfield was extremely young, and in my opinion, not well coached. So we did not load the box, and our DLine played conservative gap coverage. Oh I can not wait for this year to start. :tigereye:
The whole argument about USC being the best team can be made every year, remember LSU at the end of 2005 and 2006. Those teams could have beat anybody at the end of the year. You can make a case for teams throughout the years. If we were under the old system where the media controlled the polls and put their usual favorites into the top 5. If we didn't have the Bcs then Alabama would have claimed their 43rd national title, so was Usc very good this year? Yes, but Florida is the national champions for 2008. That question is not in doubt. Next year maybe the best defense on the planet won't get blown off the line by an undersized offensive line, but I doubt it because they will underestimate another team next year and we might have the same question again.
