come on man, its common place for athletes that come from the ghetto to emerge at a university driving SUV's and their parents to end up with high paying jobs in the city of the university, with brand new quarter mil houses.

    Oh please.

Reggie came from the ghetto? Reggie drove an old classic while at USC, not an SUV. Since when did USC relocate to San Diego? I thought it was in L.A., even when I was a student.

uscvball wouldn't you agree Taylor Mays has done all he can do in college. Why would HE want to come back? The kid is a top draft pick and he is risking the chance at millions to come back and play another year in a defense that's gonna be depleted of starters.

Make no sense to me unless he had a little coaxing form PC to stay.

I guess the last line from your link tells the story: Whatever Coach Carroll says to do,” he says, “that’s what I’m going to do.

What do you think he should do? I can respect the kids who want to finish school and want to play for a championship but it's hard to blame a kid for leaving when they're going to earn millions.

He's projected about as high as he can get and probably wouldn't move up more than a few spots next year.

USC once again has a clear path to the title game but they may be the one team who can't afford a single loss next year. The tide seemed to turn this season and many don't seem interested in giving USC any breaks for losing a conference game. The strength and depth of the Pac-1 was surely questioned this year and probably will again next year.

i was obviously exaggerating, so i will list what he really received.

round trip airfare for the bush family to come see reggie play in oakland.
limo services from the oakland airport to the ritz carlton, in which the bush family stayed.
Suits for his stepdad and brother to wear during the heisman ceremony (something tells me they werent wearing anything from JC penny.)
weekly payments of at least 1500 dollars to the Bush family.
hotel expenses for Reggie paid for at the venetian hotel and casino in las vegas.
hotel expenses paid for in san diego for Bush at the Manchester Hyatt.
13000 dollars from New Era to Bush to purchase and modify a car.
54000 dollars in rent free living at a 747,000 dollar estate.
28000 dollars to bush family to eliminate pre existing debt.
thousands of dollars in spending money.

here is where you say that none of this was ever proven. what is it with USC running backs that they can just get away with murder......

Uscvball, despite the criticism, it's nice to have you around. I appreciate your point of view and I think you make TigerForums better.

I chose that article to demonstrate that from the beginning PC was in favor and encouraged Taylor to explore his options with the NFL. Today, PC said this:
And now here's what Taylor said TODAY about his decision.

If all that is true about Reggie Bush, considering his true economic impact for the University of Southern California, he was grossly underpaid!

Dorsey and Russell should have made that much when they were at LSU. But the reality of college athletics is that the athletes can't even get paid minimum wage for practice time.
